How much is a membership?
Choose from three membership options to fit your budget and lifestyle.
Signature is $119/month.
Classic is $199/month.
Luxe is $329/month.
Is this a fee just for being a member? I don’t understand how it works.
The amount you pay every month gets applied toward the services and retail you purchase, but because you are a member, those services and retail are discounted, meaning you can receive MORE than you would otherwise. It’s essentially a little savings account for your services.
How much money can this save me?
The sky is the limit. Each membership saves you AT LEAST a certain amount each month.
Signature saves you $13 or more, depending on how much you buy.
Classic saves you at least $22 every month.
And Luxe saves you a whopping $82 or more!
How do I join?
Contact the salon via the “Inquire” form found at the bottom of the page here, or call us at 912.495.7091.
With the Signature membership, can I apply my discount to any service or retail?
The Signature Sugar Society receives a discount of 10% on sugaring services and skincare products only. To receive this discount on all services and retail, you’ll need to upgrade to the Classic or Luxe membership tiers.
What does sharing my discount with a friend mean when I sign up for the Luxe membership?
We love referrals, so we want you to be able to treat your friends and family to a fancy perk of being our ultimate VIP. Every month, you can extend your 20% discount to a new friend who has never visited us before. They will be able to enjoy this discount on their first visit, meaning 20% will be deducted from their first ticket with us.
What happens if I don’t use all of my money?
Never fear, your funds won’t ever expire. They just roll over month to month, meaning the next month, you’ll have more to spend! It’s a great way to save for those pricier services if you’ve got your eye on something special.
What do I do if I want to change my membership tier?
We make it easy to change the tier of your membership. Any funds that have rolled over will simply be treated with the discount of your new membership. You can go up or down.
What if I have to cancel?
We just need 30 days notice in writing. Once you cancel, any unused membership funds will still be available in your account to use on any service or retail. However, no discount will be applied to services or retail purchased after cancellation.

What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for PERMANENT hair removal. It was invented as a method of removing ingrown eyelashes, and the science exploded from there. It works by sending an electrical current through the root of the hair, damaging the follicle and separating it from the capillaries that feed it and permanently destroying that follicle’s ability to produce a hair. ZIP ZAP BUH-BYE!
What about laser?
So laser is actually permanent hair REDUCTION, not removal. It can be a great option, but you will most likely need a secondary method of hair removal after completing your laser sessions. (We have tons of clients who still sugar monthly, even after doing laser hair removal.) Electrolysis, however, is permanent hair REMOVAL. We can do electrolysis in conjunction with or even after laser hair removal, but it’s important to understand what you’re getting (or not getting) when you make that kind of investment.
Also, the efficacy of electrolysis is not limited by skin color or hair color. Laser requires a lot of contrast between the hair color and skin color, contraindicating it for many people. If you’ve been told you’re not a good candidate for laser, let’s talk electrolysis.
How does electrolysis work?
A tiny probe matching the width of one of your hairs is inserted into the follicle, after which your electrologist sends a small electrical current to the root, then removes the hair shaft with tweezers. Rinse and repeat for the length of the appointment.
Who are the best candidates for electrolysis? Is it right for me?
Anyone who has unwanted hair is a potential candidate for electrolysis, including those with hirsutism and people who are gender transitioning. The best candidates for electrolysis understand that it requires scheduling and keeping regular appointments for at least a year. They are committed to the process through proper home care and professional skin treatments as recommended by their electrologist. Complete this form and set up your consultation to confirm your eligibility for this service.
Who shouldn’t get electrolysis?
If we are ever unsure about whether you should undergo electrolysis, we will require a physician’s note stating that it is safe for you to receive treatments. Pregnant or lactating individuals shouldn’t receive electrolysis, but for most people, electrolysis is so localized that the treatment isn’t fully contraindicated - we may just have to take extra precautions. The conditions we need to talk about include diabetes, epilepsy, hormonal imbalances, cardiovascular conditions, anxiety, any metal plates or pins, braces, skin disorders, premalignant moles, blood disorders, hepatitis B, electrical implants, keloids, and of course, anything that concerns you.
How many appointments will I need?
Permanent hair removal on any area of the body requires a commitment of around 12-18 months. For best results, appointments should be scheduled weekly for the first few months. Your electrologist will schedule your appointments according to the predicted stage of hair growth during that time, as well as how large the area is. The exact number of appointments is impossible to predict for any individual, and can vary depending on a variety of factors such as your compliance with home care instructions, the length of time in between appointments, and hormonal conditions.
Why so many? Well, just like with sugaring, our goal is to get the hair in the growing stage, and there are three stages of hair growth. Hair removal is always the most effective in the growing stage, and generally, only a small percentage of hair is actually actively growing at one time.
How long will my appointments take?
Appointments are scheduled in increments of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes. Your electrologist will set a timer to ensure you receive all of your scheduled time. If you are late for your appointment, your electrologist will do as much as they can within the parameters of your scheduled session, however you are still responsible for the full appointment cost.
Will the area be hair free after every treatment?
Post electrolysis session, the area may or may not be hair free. This depends on the amount of time booked as related to the size of the area receiving treatment and the amount of hair in that area. Every single hair must be addressed, and there can be thousands. If the hair is coarse or deeply rooted, the current may require more time per insertion. You will coordinate appointment spacing and timing with your electrologist after each session.
Can I do this anywhere on my body?
Yes! Anywhere except areas that produce and retain moisture, such as inside the nose, the inner labia, etc. (You know, the whole water + electricity thing!)
Does it hurt?
Most clients feel very little pain, if any. You may feel heat, or something similar to a pinch, and you may to use a topical anesthetic if necessary to help alleviate any discomfort.
How do I take care of my skin between appointments?
In general, you will need to treat the area how you would a sunburn. Aloe, loose clean clothing, sunscreen… the works!
Avoid sweating and makeup.
Well hydrated skin is vital to electrolysis’s effectiveness. Drink lots of water.
We can’t do electrolysis on broken skin, so try to be gentle with the area. NO PICKING.
Your electrologist may advise treatments or facials to prep the skin for electrolysis sessions.
Sugaring and waxing are not advised during the process. You may shave or trim between appointments if necessary. Just be sure the hair has a few days to grow before your next appointment.
Are there any risks or complications?
Electrolysis is very safe. You might notice your skin is a little red or irritated, but overall, you are safe to resume regular life immediately after your session.
How is electrolysis regulated?
Georgia is a state in which electrolysis is not regulated. (Shock, horror!) It’s kind of crazy, right? So at Southern Sugaring, we are proud to employ professionally licensed estheticians and cosmetologists who have completed Silhouet-Tone’s month-long training course. Our consistently vigilant standards of hygiene, proficiency, and client care mean that you are receiving the safest quality of service in the electrolysis industry. We also only use disposable probes to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.

Wait, how long do I have to grow my hair out?
Your hair needs to be about the length of a grain of rice, around 1/4". That only takes around 10 days.
How long does it last?
Most areas fluctuate through the year between an every 3-5 week regimen. Plan to return for your follow-up appointment as soon as the hair is 1/4 inch long. For most people, this is between 2-5 weeks after the initial appointment. This will allow us to remove the hair during its growing stage.
Omg, I started my period!
Totally fine, girl. It literally happens like 10x a day, and we're trained to work around a tampon string. Other than making you a tad more sensitive, you won't have to stress about rescheduling or anything else.
What is the difference between a Brazilian and a Brazilian+?
We offer two versions of the Brazilian: the Brazilian and the Brazilian+. We formerly referred to the Brazilian+ as the "manzilian", but we changed the name of the service to be inclusive to all genders regardless of the presence of certain genitalia, specifically the scrotum. The Brazilian+ requires around 15 more minutes per client than a Brazilian. As the Brazilian+ is a more advanced level of service, all of our estheticians do not provide this, therefore we must differentiate between the Brazilian and the Brazilian+ in scheduling. We differentiate between the Bikini and Bikini+ in the same way.
Does it hurt?
Here's the thing: we're removing hair by the root. It stings in a pretty unique way. But, it hurts way less than waxing because it doesn't remove the skin like waxing does. And guess what? Monthly appointments help to deplete the follicle (making it smaller and way less painful to remove).
Will I be red?
Maybe a little, but most people barely turn pink and any irritation is usually gone within the hour. We've actually got a lot of clients who come on their lunch breaks for face services because their skin is back to normal by the time they return to work.
How is sugaring different from waxing?
In comparison to waxing, sugaring hurts less and lasts longer.
The sugar paste is body temperature, meaning it is never too hot, and is made of only natural ingredients: sugar, lemon juice, and water.
Hair is removed in the SAME direction of growth, meaning no breakage.
It doesn't remove live skin.
My friend said sugaring hurt her more than waxing though.
So here's the thing. Sugaring is hard to learn. We can't speak for other sugaring and waxing salons, but at SOUTHERN Sugaring, our sugaristas are trained by and endorsed by spa owner and industry expert Jessica Mock to provide an experience that is unsurpassed. As with any industry, skill levels vary, and we would encourage both you and your friend to come try the difference at Southern Sugaring.
Should I bring anything?
Bring a clean set of underwear with you for after your bikini or Brazilian service, and a clean white tee with you for after your back or chest service.
What should I do after my appointment?
For 24 hours, no tanning, exercising, or tight clothing. Avoid any creams, lotions, or deodorants with artificial fragrances. Abstain from sexual activity for the first 48 hours after any type of bikini sugaring, as this is the time period when your body is most susceptible to outside bacteria which could potentially cause an infection. After 48 hours, you'll need to exfoliate and moisturize using the products we've recommended for your individual skin type. Plan to exfoliate the area 2 - 3 times per week. This helps to prevent ingrown hairs, as the hair is missing from the follicle for approximately three weeks, which is enough time for dead skin cells to grow over the mouth of the follicle. Exfoliating will allow the hair to grow up and out, and we can ALWAYS tell our clients who do and who don't exfoliate. We'll design a routine just for you with our line of Top Shelf homecare products.
I feel itchy/sensitive/broke out! HAAALP!!!
Applying an anti-histamine cream is our first line of defense, to calm your body’s natural defense mechanism down. Basically, sometimes, when hair is removed, our bodies freak out, thinking there’s been a trauma, so it sends all its white blood cells to the area, causing itching or breakouts. Salt compresses or baths can also help to speed up healing. Dissolve one teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Saturate a cotton pad and apply to the affected area. If you prefer to soak, dissolve a cup of sea salt in a warm tub. Soak for no longer than 15 minutes, or skin will become dehydrated.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any concerns.
So I left with some stubble...what's that about?
Shaving distorts the follicle, and waxing always breaks some hair. This messes up growth cycles, so usually we have to work as a team in the beginning to get all of your hair growing at the same. It can take between 2 and 4 appointments to do this, but our experts know how to determine what phase of growth your hair is in, making the process as seamless as possible.
What's the difference between a Brazilian and a bikini?
A Brazilian sugar by definition removes everything from the labia and between the buns, and leaves as much or as little hair in the front as you'd like. (Read: totally nude, landing strip, Dorito, a heart, the full bush Brazilian...) A bikini sugar removes what would show in a traditional bikini. We take an extra inch or so off the sides and off the top to make sure nothing sneaks through.
Dude! Can I sugar my head if I already shave it? Or sugar my beard off?
Usually, no. Unfortunately, this hair is generally too coarse and deeply rooted to wax or sugar. Removal would cause an extreme histamine reaction for most men. We do offer sugaring services for softer finer hair, however, and if we have any question about the safety of a procedure, we will recommend a patch test prior to booking the appointment.
Is it safe to do while I'm pregnant?
Oh my goodness, yes! It's the safest, least painful option too, especially when things start to hide underneath that precious belly.
Is there anything I should do before my appointment?
Complete your intake form here to save time at the salon. Avoid tanning and stimulants such as caffeine. Keep your skin exfoliated and hydrated between appointments, but do not exfoliate the day before or the day of a treatment.
How long will it take before I don’t need to get sugared at all? When does the hair stop growing back?
This depends greatly on the individual. With consistent treatments, the hair will become more refined and the hair bulb will shrink, but the timeline depends on the number of matrix cells a follicle possesses. Matrix cells are the cells from which a new hair will grow. With the growth and loss of each hair, a matrix cell is used. When the predetermined number of cells is used up, there can be no new hair through the follicle. That is why following the timeline outlined by your Sugarista is so important - we aim to remove the hair during the Anagen stage of growth, decreasing the matrix cells more quickly for permanent results.

What is a lash lift and tint?
Basically, it’s a perm and color for your lashes that lasts 6-8 weeks. Most people find they no longer need to wear mascara after their service. It’s a great option if you are looking for a natural look that is less maintenance than extensions.
What color will my lashes be tinted?
We have multiple colors available. You will be able to choose, but most people opt for black.
Are your lash technicians licensed and certified?
Absolutely! All of our professionals are certified in the services they provide.
How long will my appointment take?
A lift and tint takes roughly an hour.
